Doesn't the morning always make things look better? I've had a nice bowl of grapenuts with a sliced banana on top and I'm ready to get out the door. You all have been very supportive and I thank you.

I'm not looking for a boyfriend at all, or a girlfriend for that matter. I acutally hope one doesn't show up for awhile even. This school year has been fairly difficult so far and I can't afford the distraction.

This guy is a player for sure and that's ok, I wasn't looking at him as marriage material or anything. I was just looking for some laughs and a good time.

Oh and Rob, you've suggested I just date women? It's ok, you can come right out and ask me out j/k

Emotional attachment isn't really on my to do list. I was just looking for some laughs. School honestly is my top priority.

OK I'm having a pity party. I don't usually date much. I prefer going out with a group rather than just a single person. But this guy has been pestering me for a couple of weeks and he seems nice. He's cute, full time student and works partime. Even has a nice car. So he's ahead of the game as far as the usual guy that asks me out.

So an hour before the date I get a call asking if he could beg off for tonight because some "serious stuff" came up. Yeah right, sure it did. He went with another buddy of mine to Tahoe for the weekend. That sounded serious enough. So not long after he canceled he found out I had talked to the mutal friend and that he had been busted. He calls back and wants to know if I'm really pissed or not.

I said I wasn't pissed even a little bit but instead annoyed. I don't like making plans and having them screwed up. I told him we can hang out as we have already but that dating is out of the question and of course so is the great sex I had planned for him tonight. He said the F word right about then.

It's good to mess with his head isn't it?

Anyway the pity party will end soon. I'm going on a nice mountain bike ride near Santa Cruz tomorrow and then I'll head up highway 1 to home after that.

Here is their post about gifts year around.....

I'm only 15, but when i was 1-5 years of age i never got wrapped presents from my mom or my dad. My mom would buy me gifts like when i was about 2 or 3 she bought me a doll house and woke me up late at night to give it to me. She did the same with a doll... but none of it was wrapped. My dad just never bought me anything even when he wasn't in the witnesses. of course I was young and i didn't realize, but now I do.

the jws always give a lengthly explanation as to why they don't celebrate christmas or birthdays, and then always add the final statement "besides, we give gifts throughout the year!".

yeah, right!

okay, lets get an unofficial count of all the people who actually did get gifts on other days of the year.

So what I seem to be hearing here is that with a few exceptions, it was just another line of crap that the Watchtower programmed us to say.

Line of crap is right. My parents and I were at book study one time around the holidays when someone said that line, about getting gifts all year around, how we don't have to be told to give gifts of love. I was maybe 11 or 12 at the time. Anyway a teenage girl spoke up and responded that "yes it's a nice thought but the reality in her home was there were never gifts to open, only school clothes and stuff like that".

When we got home my parents asked if I missed getting gifts and I told him I didn't know because I never really got any.

Christmas came that weekend. Mom and dad blew a bundle and we had a lot of gift days after that. They weren't always expensive but they sure made me feel loved.

i was asked to read at the writers conference at the college today.

(i also had two works published in their anthology) well, it went really well there were writer's and agents and i got some really good feedback.

i have a meeting with an agent tomorrow, i really would rather talk about thunders new short story that i want to send to a children's publisher

Hey I'm pretty darn conservative and I think she's full of it. She makes the case for not having a steady relationship

My parents have a great relationship so I know relationships aren't all bad. It sounds like some of you here don't have problems in that area. I enjoy the relationship stage where you can't wait to get to it.
